Mosquitoes drive us crazy!

What a great couple of months we’ve had in Dubai! Despite the restrictions associated with COVID-19, we’ve been able to enjoy the beautiful weather from our backyards and during the limited outings that we can do.

Of course the cooler weather has many of us opening up our doors and windows but there have been plenty of unwanted bugs around this season. Many of the community areas across Dubai have artificial man-made lakes. These water features are generally fairly stagnate and therefore attract many bugs including the dreaded mosquito!

Mosquitoes breed in water where they lay their eggs which in about a week become larvae. These larvae live in the water for up to two weeks turning into pupa for another few days before becoming adult mosquitoes. This is the point where these pests haunt us for the few weeks of their lives. In many parts of the world mosquitoes can be deadly as they can carry harmful diseases such as malaria. We are fortunate in the UAE that the mosquitos here do not carry malaria, however they can still spread harmful germs. To many of use their bite gets infected and causes irritation for days. It’s also disruptive to our sleep when these little pests buzz around our bedrooms at night.

One of the pleasures when we have this great weather is being able to sleep with our bedroom doors and windows open. However, the only way in which we can do this is if we have mosquito nets installed on our Dubai villas. This is an easy item to get installed and there are a wide range of insect screen options available across Dubai and the UAE. Our most popular screen is the pleated retractable insect screen. We use a quality European system and not some cheap screen made from low quality components from China or Turkey. These are the most functional and robust pleated screens available in the UAE. Other options include a simple fixed insect screen mesh panel that we place over the window opening. We also have a range of hinged style door insect screens if this type of design is preferred.

If you’d like to discuss your screen requirements, then please feel free to send us a message and one of our experienced and knowledgeable consultants will visit your home to show you some samples and understand your exact needs.

Trackless Pleated Screens

Trackless screens have arrived!

We’re excited that after one year of development we now have this unique ‘trackless’ screen available in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and across the UAE. This screen takes all the advantages of our pleated screen and adds a new design twist that sees the bottom rail removed.

This allows the screen to be placed across doors that have no track and removes any ugly bottom rail that traditional pleated screens have. The other advantage of these great screens is that they can be joined together to cover very wide openings. These are perfect for the wide openings found on bi-fold doors and large stacking doors.

FlyScreens.ae is the only company in the UAE to offer this extendable pleated screen option. Please feel free to contact us if you’d like a free measure and quote or to discuss options with one of our experienced team members.

Customer feedback counts!

Over the past year we’ve had many UAE residents request a good quality but affordable fly and insect screen. We initially only offered a premium security screen however we’ve expanded our product line to include the pleated screen.

This screen is gaining great popularity in Europe and across Australasia and we’ve decided to offer it here in Dubai. This website is the result of bringing this new pleated screen to the UAE market.

We’ll continue to add helpful information to this section of the website to assist you choosing which screen to install on your villa.
